I can’t say enough how beautiful the city of Prague is, and how refreshingly cheap it is (coming from Paris). On day two, these grands flocons de neige frapped me right in the face the second I opened the door (of our $13/night hostel holla) and the rest of the week was a little snow globe wonderland. Have to love!
We went to the Praha State Opera the second night and saw Georges Bizet’s Carmen, so good composition-wise. I made friends with two old ladies at the ticket office, but we reached a little bit of impasse once I had exhausted the few Czech words and phrases I knew and they realized they knew less English than they’d been fooling themselves with, but ahhh you know how I craque pour the elderly. And also small infants, puppies in cars, and woodland creatures.
Having hot wine in Praha made me appreciate the wonderful vin chaud we have in Paris (let’s never take it for granted Miro, need to go to Pick Clops soon and people watch), but they do beer better so it’s alright. We went to a few beer halls, including Pivovarsky dum, with their own microbrews (I’m just spouting terminology). I don’t like beer personally, but I can play the game!
Had some tasty Afghan food at Ariana, and the last night we went to this perfect ( ambiance-wise) bar, Tretter’s.
Alright my eyes are rolling to the back of my head so I’m gonna bounce out of this post while its still typo-free.
Before I go though: PARIS! The weather! In the 50s! Have you ever seen me happier than this? Probably not. I can’t believe the end of winter is finally here, I’m drooling over myself in elation. :)
